We have saved thousands from hunger. Now it could all come to an end – unless you are the one who saves us.
We’ve been operating for 3 years — first as Dom Matki and, for the past year, as Kwitnący Dom (The Blooming Home). We’ve had private and institutional donors, secured grants, and carried out various project-based initiatives. Today, we conduct around 150 food pickups each month, rescuing food at risk of being wasted — and just last week alone, we helped prevent 827 people from going hungry.
So why did we launch this fundraiser?
After dozens of rejected applications and months of talks with companies and institutions about support, we’ve just heard the final blow:
“There won’t be any funding for you…”
But we simply can’t wait any longer.
We’re short on funds to cover rent, water, and salaries for the 4 staff members who handle food for over 2,300 people each month (June 2025), coordinate the work of hundreds of volunteers who contribute 1,500 hours a month (June 2025: 385 volunteer visits totaling 1,592 hours and 25 minutes), and receive donations from kind souls who come to us (144 people in July alone…).
If we don’t raise the funds — the food that reaches us will end up in the trash, and those in need will be left empty-handed. And we… will have to shut our doors for good.
But if we succeed — the funds raised will allow us to continue operating for the months ahead.
Who are the people we help? They’re not “the underclass. They’re your neighbors, your friends, your loved ones — just going through a harder moment in life.
Mothers who have nothing to pack in their children’s backpacks,
Fathers working full-time, but the minimum wage just isn’t enough to make ends meet,
Seniors forced to choose between bread and medicine,
Fire victims who lost everything they had in a matter of moments,
Those struck by tragedy and left with no support,
People with disabilities who can’t count on life getting any easier,
Those fleeing war — and those defeated by life right here at home.
What do we do?
We rescue food and distribute it to those in need (we have over 800 registered beneficiary families).
We run the European Funds for Food Aid program, through which hundreds of people receive dozens of kilograms of long-lasting, nutritious food.
We organize the Christmas Trees Full of Dreams campaign — in 2024, nearly 3,500 children who couldn’t even dream of gifts received presents.
We collect and pass on clothing, toys, and household items (we have 6,000 beneficiaries in our database, plus 2,300 families at a partner location near Garwolin).
We run a free secondhand store, receiving about 5–6 tons of clothing each month.
We operate a free online shop for NGO workers and public sector professionals involved in social support — they can order new items (like shoes) directly for their clients.
We acquire and distribute hygiene products for women and children, helping to reduce period poverty for thousands of women in the Warsaw metropolitan area.
We provide starter kits for pregnant women and new mothers (also in cooperation with the Dwie Kreski Association), supporting those for whom this time is especially challenging.
We are now launching a food delivery service for people with limited mobility — including seniors and people with disabilities.
In all of this, we work hand in hand with:
dozens of public institutions,
hundreds of organizations,
hundreds of companies,
thousands of volunteers,
and thousands of beneficiaries who… stay and give back by helping alongside us!
If you don’t help now — we might not make it to that better tomorrow. Please — give us the time we need to keep building it, for all of us.
